Alongside Mojtaba Khamenei, the US State Department lists four more officials, including Iran’s IRGC chief and the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council.

The United States is offering a reward of up to $10 million for information on senior Iranian military and intelligence officials, including Iran’s newly appointed Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, according to the US State Department’s website.
The reward covers 10 figures linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), a powerful force created after the 1979 Islamic Revolution that remains loyal to the supreme leader and is tasked with protecting the clerical establishment.
Mojtaba succeeded his father, Ali Khamenei, as supreme leader after the elder Khamenei was killed — along with several top Iranian officials — in joint US‑Israeli strikes that began on February 28. The younger Khamenei, who is believed to have been wounded in the attacks, has not been seen publicly since, though he issued his first statement on Thursday.
In addition to the supreme leader, the US is seeking information on several other Iranian officials, including security chief Ali Larijani, Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib, Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, and two officials from Khamenei’s office.
Larijani was seen on Friday in videos verified by Reuters alongside President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi at a rally in Tehran, even as US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth claimed Iran’s leadership was “cowering” underground.
The reward notice on the State Department site also lists four other officials — including the IRGC commander and the secretary of the defence council — but does not provide their names or photos.
“These individuals command and direct various elements of the IRGC, which plans, organises, and executes terrorism around the world,” the State Department said.
The IRGC could not be reached for comment on Friday, Iran’s weekly day of rest. Iran’s mission to the United Nations in New York also did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The US has formally designated the IRGC as a foreign terrorist organisation, accusing it of involvement in attacks that have killed US citizens and of plotting assassinations against US officials, including former President Donald Trump, in retaliation for the 2020 killing of Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani. Iran denies these claims, dismissing US allegations of terrorism as political attacks aimed at justifying pressure campaigns or sanctions.
