
Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated across the country today with great religious zeal and enthusiasm.
Eid congregations were held at mosques, Eidgahs, and open spaces, where large numbers of people gathered for prayers. Religious scholars highlighted the significance and philosophy of Eid-ul-Fitr in their sermons, while special prayers were offered for the country’s progress, prosperity, and the welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
Strict security arrangements have been implemented nationwide to ensure peaceful celebrations.
In Lahore, the day began with special prayers after Fajr, focusing on national unity and strength. Numerous congregations took place across the city, with the largest gathering held at the historic Badshahi Mosque. Punjab Police deployed over 47,000 personnel across the province, while security at inter-provincial border posts remained on high alert.
In Karachi, around 500 Eid congregations were organized. Governor Nehal Hashmi offered Eid prayers at Governor House. The largest gathering took place at Polo Ground, attended by diplomats, lawmakers, and citizens. Authorities ensured strict security measures across the city.
In Peshawar, the main congregation was held at the city’s Eidgah. Governor Faisal Karim Kundi offered prayers at Governor House and later exchanged Eid greetings with the public. Special prayers were also made for peace, stability, and unity, as well as for Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.
In Quetta, more than 200 congregations were held at mosques, parks, Imambargahs, and Eidgahs, with the main gathering at Eidgah Toghi Road. Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail and Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti offered Eid prayers. The chief minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to public welfare, peace, and development, emphasizing unity and harmony as key to progress.
In Gilgit-Baltistan, large Eid congregations were held across all districts, with prayers offered for national prosperity. Similarly, in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Eid prayers took place in major cities. In Muzaffarabad, the main congregation was held at Central Eidgah, where Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore offered prayers and exchanged greetings with the public. Acting President Chaudhry Latif Akbar also participated in Eid prayers there.
