PM Shehbaz Sharif exchanged Eid greetings during phone calls with leaders of several Islamic countries, while emphasizing the importance of unity within the Muslim Ummah.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held telephone conversations with leaders of Azerbaijan, Malaysia, and Uzbekistan on Friday, urging urgent de-escalation and a diplomatic approach to address tensions in the Middle East.
He spoke separately with Ilham Aliyev, Anwar Ibrahim, and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during which the leaders exchanged Eid-ul-Fitr greetings and discussed the evolving regional situation.
During his conversation with President Aliyev, the prime minister conveyed warm Eid wishes to the leadership and people of Azerbaijan, which were warmly reciprocated.
Both leaders prayed for unity within the Muslim Ummah and expressed concern over the ongoing hostilities in Iran and the Gulf region, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned attacks targeting Azerbaijan and reiterated Pakistan’s solidarity with its people. The two sides called for immediate de-escalation, stressing the importance of dialogue and diplomacy to resolve outstanding issues.
In a separate conversation with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, both leaders exchanged Eid greetings and emphasized the importance of peace and harmony across the Muslim Ummah.
They also highlighted the need for urgent de-escalation in the Middle East and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting diplomatic efforts to restore regional stability.
Both sides expressed satisfaction over the positive progress in relations between Pakistan and Malaysia, and pledged to further strengthen and expand their cooperation.
During his conversation with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended Eid greetings, which were warmly reciprocated.
The leaders discussed regional tensions and urged restraint, reaffirming that dialogue and diplomacy are essential for peacefully resolving conflicts.
They also reviewed bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the Uzbek president’s recent visit to Pakistan, while emphasizing the importance of timely follow-up on key agreements and decisions.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also held a phone call with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, during which the two leaders exchanged Eid-ul-Fitr greetings.
He reaffirmed the strong, brotherly relations between Pakistan and Egypt and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
The prime minister also commended Egypt’s constructive diplomatic role in regional and global affairs, particularly its efforts to promote peace in the Middle East.
Both leaders reviewed the evolving situation in Iran and the Gulf region, expressing deep concern over the ongoing hostilities and agreeing to pursue continued diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions and restore peace and stability.
A day earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also held conversations with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and King Abdullah II, where discussions centered on the Middle East situation and the urgent need for de-escalation.
