Chappell Roan Faces Backlash Following Series of Public Incidents

Chappell Roan is facing intense backlash on social media following a security incident involving a young fan in Rio de Janeiro — the daughter of Jorginho — with the city’s mayor reportedly stepping in to address the situation.
The 27-year-old pop star reportedly faced backlash after a security incident in which a guard confronted a young fan and her mother at a hotel, leaving the child in tears after being yelled at.
Although Chappell Roan, known for her hit “Good Luck, Babe!”, later defended herself on social media—stating she was unaware of the incident and did not instruct the guard to intervene—she has since been banned from Brazil’s Todo Mundo no Rio Festival.
The mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Cavaliere, addressed the issue on X, stating that while he is in charge of the city, the singer would not be allowed to perform at the festival.
The event, scheduled for later this year and described as the “biggest dance floor in the world,” will proceed without her.
This controversy follows a recent incident involving Roan and paparazzi in Paris, which also sparked widespread debate earlier this month.
The singer has sparked mixed reactions, with some fans and critics praising her for setting clear boundaries, while others criticised her approach.
However, the incident involving Jorginho’s daughter left many fans disappointed, with calls for Chappell Roan to take responsibility.
