Lara Croft ‘Tomb Raider’ reboot set to restart production soon

Sophie Turner has suffered a minor injury while filming the new Tomb Raider series, leading to a short production pause as the Game of Thrones star recovers.
According to Page Six, a spokesperson said: “We look forward to resuming production as soon as possible.”
A source told the outlet that Sophie Turner is expected to return to the set within two weeks, while crew members will continue to be paid and remain occupied with preparation work in the meantime.
Insiders also revealed to The US Sun that Turner had a pre-existing back issue, which worsened due to the long and demanding hours on set since filming began in January.
“Sophie has been fully committed to the role, but the intense physical demands of playing Lara Croft have pushed her body too far,” one source said.
The injury is not entirely surprising considering the level of preparation Turner has undertaken for the role. Speaking earlier this year on The Julia Cunningham Show, she shared that her training schedule involved eight hours a day, five days a week, starting from February last year.
It was during this rigorous training period that she first discovered her back problem.
The series is based on the long-running Tomb Raider franchise, which follows the adventures of archaeologist Lara Croft. The iconic character has previously been portrayed on screen by Angelina Jolie in the 2001 film and Alicia Vikander in the 2018 reboot.
