King and Queen share joyful announcement about a special arrival

The royal family issued a delightful statement, announcing that the King and Queen have welcomed special new members into their home.
In a recent Instagram post, King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark shared their excitement over the arrival of new horses, the first since their ascension to the throne.
A series of charming photos was posted on social media with the caption: “Welcome to Flik and Flak in the Royal Stables.”
“With apple treats and gentle pats, Her Majesty the Queen recently named the two new horses at the Royal Stables,” the post added.
The royal family’s spokesperson noted that during the reign of Christian X, horses with the same names were also part of the stables.
“The names are fitting, as Flik and Flak share the same initials as the King and are the first new horses since the throne changed,” the statement read.
Flik and Flak were born and raised in Denmark and will follow their daily routine at the stables of Christiansborg Riding School.
“The Royal Stables are among the oldest in the world. For over 300 years, royal horses have played a key role in the Royal House’s transportation and ceremonial traditions,” the statement concluded.
