Taryn Manning is best known for her role in Orange Is the New Black

Taryn Manning has responded after a viral video appeared to show her involved in a heated physical altercation, insisting the clip presents only one side of the story.
The actress also denied reports claiming the woman in the video was her partner.
The Orange Is the New Black star spoke out on March 31, a day after TMZ released footage that seemingly showed her in a confrontation with another woman. In the video, Manning is heard shouting, “Look what you’ve done to my f–king studio,” before threatening to call the police. The person filming replies, “Call the police. I’ll show them you just attacked me.”
Addressing the incident on Instagram, the 47-year-old said important context was missing from the circulating footage.
“I don’t want to watch it because I don’t want to upset myself,” she said. “I know that violence is never, ever good.”
Manning clarified that the woman seen in the video is not her girlfriend or a family member.
“She’s not my family. She’s not my girlfriend or my wife,” she explained. “Why do I have to house this random girl — a fan I befriended 18 years ago? It’s too much.”
The actress admitted the situation has left her feeling unfairly judged.
“It feels like everything is turning against me, and I’m just sitting here having to take it. I’m sick of it. It’s not good, it’s not smart,” she said.
Past Legal Issues Resurface
The incident has also brought renewed attention to Manning’s past legal troubles. In 2012, she was arrested for misdemeanor assault after allegedly attacking her personal assistant, Holly Hartman, though the case was later dropped when Hartman chose not to pursue charges.
In 2016, Hartman sought a restraining order following another alleged confrontation, which Manning denied.
For now, Manning maintains that the recent video does not reflect the full story.
“I look like this one-sided, violent person,” she said, expressing hope that the situation will be understood in its proper context.
