The Board announced that a revised timetable will be released soon, with students taking their exams at their originally assigned centres.

Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams in Karachi have been postponed, with the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) announcing on Sunday that the examinations will now commence on April 10, 2026.
The move comes after an alliance of private schools requested the delay, citing incomplete arrangements and insufficient preparedness.
The group expressed concerns that examination centres were not finalised, admit cards had not been issued on time, and exam materials had yet to be dispatched.
In a press release, the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) explained that it is transitioning from a manual to a digital system.
“Therefore, the software application experienced overload and temporary disruption. Our IT team is working to resolve the issue,” the board stated.
“The SSC examinations have been rescheduled to start on April 10, 2026, to ensure they are conducted in an ‘organised … and transparent manner,’” it added.
The board confirmed that a revised timetable will be released soon, and students will take their exams at the centres already assigned to them.
The alliance of private schools had previously warned of ongoing uncertainty regarding centres and other arrangements, urging authorities to reschedule the exams to prevent disruption.
However, the BSEK maintained that preparations were complete, noting that admit cards had already been uploaded to its website and dispatched to private candidates at their residential addresses.
The board office remained open, including on Sunday, for candidates who had not yet received their admit cards.
