Ivanna Ortiz was arrested as a suspect after attacking Rihanna’s Los Angeles home

Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, the woman accused of opening fire at Rihanna’s Beverly Hills home while the star was inside, has been formally charged with attempted murder and faces the possibility of a life prison sentence if convicted, authorities announced Tuesday.
The 35‑year‑old Orlando, Florida resident appeared at a Los Angeles County courthouse in a blue jail jumpsuit with her hair styled in two blonde braids for an arraignment and plea hearing.
Ortiz is accused of firing multiple shots from a semiautomatic weapon at the property on March 8, striking the exterior despite Rihanna, her partner A$AP Rocky, their three children and others being inside at the time; no one was injured. She now faces 14 felony counts including attempted murder, assault with a firearm and shooting at an inhabited dwelling.
Her bail has been set at around $1.8 million, and her next court appearance is scheduled for later this month.
Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, accused of opening fire at Rihanna’s Beverly Hills home, faces a series of serious charges including attempted murder, nine counts of assault with a firearm, two counts of shooting into an inhabited dwelling, and one count of shooting at a motor vehicle.
During a brief court appearance on Tuesday, Ortiz did not enter a plea. Her formal arraignment has been scheduled for March 26.
Court details revealed a more alarming picture of the incident than previously reported. Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman stated that Rihanna and her partner A$AP Rocky were inside an Airstream trailer parked in the couple’s driveway when bullets pierced the windshield.
Meanwhile, Rihanna’s mother and the couple’s three young children—RZA, 3; Riot Rose, 2; and five-month-old Rocki Irish Mayers—were inside the main house, along with two staff members. The singer’s front security gate was also struck, and a neighboring home was hit during the shooting, with two people inside at the time.
Ortiz, a Florida native, allegedly fired ten shots from an AR-15-style rifle in broad daylight at around 1:21 p.m. on Sunday. Her bond has been reduced from $10.225 million to $1.8 million, with a court order to stay away from both Rihanna and Rocky.
Hochman confirmed that, given the severity of the charges, Ortiz could face a life sentence if convicted. Following her arrest, Page Six reported that Ortiz has a prior criminal record, including an alleged domestic violence incident involving her ex-husband.
Tuesday marked Ortiz’s first public court appearance since her arrest.
