India’s active support and sponsorship of terrorist groups operating from Afghan soil well known, says Andrabi

Pakistan on Saturday rejected India’s criticism of its counterterrorism operations inside Afghanistan, calling the remarks “absurd and unwarranted” and accusing New Delhi of a long history of supporting terrorism while repeatedly disregarding international law.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi made the comments while responding to media queries regarding a statement issued by India’s Ministry of External Affairs.
“The remarks by the spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs of India about Pakistan’s legitimate, targeted and precise actions against terrorist hideouts and support bases inside Afghanistan are not only absurd and unwarranted but also shamefully hypocritical,” he said.
Andrabi further stated that India’s alleged backing of militant groups operating from Afghan soil was widely known. “India’s active support and sponsorship of terrorist groups, including Fitna-al-Khawarij and Fitna-al-Hindustan, are well known,” he added.
“Therefore, India’s frustration over the dismantling of its alleged terrorist network in Afghanistan, as reflected in such statements, is quite understandable,” Andrabi added.
He also accused India of committing human rights violations, stating, “India, a serial violator of human rights and international law, continues to illegally occupy Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in violation of the UN Charter and relevant UN Security Council resolutions, and has been responsible for perpetrating state terrorism in the occupied territory.”
Criticising India’s domestic and regional policies, Andrabi said, “Driven by Hindutva extremist ideology, India continues to systematically marginalise its minorities, promote Islamophobia, and has even weaponised water in violation of its treaty obligations.”
He further alleged that India had played a disruptive role beyond Afghanistan. “India has not only acted as a spoiler in Afghanistan but also across the wider region,” he said.
Questioning India’s authority to criticise Pakistan’s actions, Andrabi remarked, “With such a record, India is in no position to issue such statements and should instead focus on refraining from stoking terrorism inside Pakistan from Afghan soil.”
He concluded by reiterating Pakistan’s position: “Pakistan remains determined to take all necessary actions in self-defence and to safeguard its citizens in accordance with international law, including the UN Charter.
