Lisa Kudrow describes meeting her husband, Michel Stern, as the best thing that ever happened to her, as the couple celebrate three decades of marriage.
The 62-year-old actress met Stern before rising to fame for her role as Phoebe in Friends, and the two have remained together through every stage of her journey.
Sharing the secret to her lasting marriage, Kudrow said, “I think that’s really what it comes down to—mutual respect. It’s about wanting to stay together, continually relearning respect, practicing it, and truly listening,” she told People magazine.
At a recent premiere of her show The Comeback, Kudrow was joined by her husband and their 27-year-old son, Julian Murray Stern, who also appears in the series.
Speaking about working with her son, the Mad About You actress recalled, “I was feeling a bit tired and my mind was foggy from going over lines. I walked in, saw Julian sitting on the couch with others, and instinctively went over, sat beside him, and cuddled up.”
Kudrow has previously expressed gratitude for meeting her husband before fame transformed her life. In an earlier interview, she shared, “I feel incredibly lucky that I met and fell in love with the man I would spend my life with just before Friends happened.”
