The Prince and Princess of Wales tasked to mark important celebration amid backlash: ‘Vital work’

The Prince and Princess of Wales, who have been supporting the monarch behind the scenes while preparing for their future roles, have been assigned an important duty in the coming days.
On Monday, senior members of the royal family joined King Charles and Queen Camilla at Westminster Abbey to mark the Commonwealth Day service. As the Head of the Commonwealth, the occasion holds significant importance in King Charles’s royal calendar.
However, the occasion was overshadowed by protests from anti-monarchist demonstrators linked to the Prince Andrew–Jeffrey Epstein scandal. Protesters reportedly booed and questioned how much members of the royal family knew about the disgraced duke’s association with the convicted paedophile financier.
Despite the disruption, the Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales are set to continue their official engagements and will mark a significant occasion on Thursday.
The couple is scheduled to visit the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) Tower Lifeboat Station to learn more about the organisation’s vital work in saving lives on the River Thames.
The visit will also coincide with celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of RNLI Lifeguards. The RNLI is a charity dedicated to saving lives at sea, operating 238 lifeboat stations across the United Kingdom and Ireland, while its beach lifeguards provide seasonal patrols at more than 240 beaches.
