PUBG: Battlegrounds rolled out its long-awaited Prop Hunt mode on March 31, giving players a new twist on hide-and-seek—but only for a limited time. The mode will be available until April 7, so fans have just over a week to jump in and join the action.
How Prop Hunt Works
Each match features 12 players: nine as Props and three as Hunters. The round starts with a preparation phase—Props get a temporary speed boost to find a hiding spot, while Hunters remain in a restricted zone with limited vision.
When the hunt begins, Hunters must track down Props carefully, as shooting anything that isn’t a Prop drains their HP. Props can use abilities like the Stun-Gun, Decoy, and Prop Switch to evade capture and mislead Hunters.
The round ends with Fever Time, a chaotic phase where Hunters gain extra weapons and the HP penalty for misfiring is removed entirely. Prop Hunt is playable across the Miramar, Rono, and Vikendi maps, offering plenty of hiding spots and creative gameplay.
PUBG: Battlegrounds Crossovers and Community Buzz
The Prop Hunt event has successfully lured returning players back to PUBG: Battlegrounds, and fans are already urging the developers to make the temporary mode permanent. To keep engagement high, Krafton has also teased an upcoming Stellar Blade crossover featuring the character Eve, generating excitement among the community.
The End of PUBG: Blindspot
While the main game thrives, Krafton’s spin-off efforts have stumbled. On March 30, Team ARC officially shut down PUBG: Blindspot, which struggled to attract a player base. Fans criticized the game for persistent bugs, glitches, and an uninspired gameplay loop, leading to widespread disappointment.
The closure has fueled community concerns about the franchise’s direction. With another spin-off, PUBG: Black Budget, in development, players are now questioning Krafton’s ability to successfully expand the PUBG universe.
