Sheryl Underwood and Sharon Osbourne had a falling out in 2021

Sheryl Underwood revealed that she reached out to Sharon Osbourne following the death of Ozzy Osbourne last year, extending an olive branch despite their infamous on-air clash on The Talk in 2021, which effectively ended both of their stints on the show.
The 62-year-old made the disclosure during a **Tuesday appearance on *The View
“I still believe there’s some love between me and Sharon Osbourne. I tried to reach out when Ozzy passed,” Sheryl Underwood said.
“I love her. Sometimes, with coworkers or colleagues, you hope conflicts don’t get that big. I’m going to be honest—you sit next to somebody for that long, and there’s some love there.”
Ozzy Osbourne died in July 2025 at the age of 76 from cardiac arrest, coronary artery disease, and complications related to Parkinson’s disease.
Underwood admitted she had been hesitant to leave a voicemail when trying to contact Sharon, wary of how it could be interpreted or publicized. “I was afraid to leave a voicemail because, in this business, your voicemail can show up somewhere or be misunderstood,” she explained.
The pair’s original falling-out stemmed from a heated on-air discussion in 2021 about Meghan Markle’s claims of racial mistreatment within the royal family, during which Sharon voiced support for Piers Morgan’s defense of the royals. Underwood recalled telling them: “Ya’ll got to get off Meghan Markle. We will not let you drag her because her mama is from Windsor Hills. Meghan is in Windsor Palace.”
Reflecting on the incident, Underwood offered a measured perspective: “I sat next to her for years, and I do believe that when she’s hurt, she’s really hurt. Maybe there are things both of us could have handled differently.”
She also expressed openness to a public reconciliation, even calling out potential mediators by name. “I haven’t done everything right, but if somebody could pull us together… Howard Stern, pull us together,” she told The View hosts.
The road to reconciliation remains complicated. Sharon reportedly apologized to Underwood via text in the days following their on-air clash, but in a 2024 appearance on The Sage Steele Show, she revealed the apology was reluctantly made at her child’s urging. Sharon also claimed that, despite having the apology documented, Underwood denied ever receiving it.
