Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Türkiye will continue to support Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace in the region, according to remarks made to Shehbaz Sharif.

Shehbaz Sharif held a bilateral meeting with Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday on the sidelines of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the meeting was described as warm and cordial, with President Erdogan welcoming PM Shehbaz to Türkiye and expressing gratitude for his participation in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
The meeting took place a day after the prime minister arrived in Türkiye as part of the third leg of his three-nation tour, following visits to Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
During his trip to Riyadh and Doha, Shehbaz Sharif met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
At the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Recep Tayyip Erdogan praised PM Shehbaz’s efforts toward peace and reaffirmed that Türkiye would continue to support Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives aimed at promoting regional stability.
The prime minister expressed his gratitude to President Erdogan for the warm invitation and the traditional Turkish hospitality extended to him and his delegation during their stay in Antalya.
He congratulated the Turkish president on the successful organisation of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, noting that it has grown into an important global platform.
The two leaders exchanged views on recent regional developments, particularly the evolving situation in the Middle East. Shehbaz Sharif thanked Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his continued support and encouragement of Pakistan’s peace efforts, and briefed him on steps being taken to extend the ceasefire and resume dialogue aimed at reaching a lasting peace agreement.
Both leaders also stressed the importance of making full use of the current opportunity to promote durable and sustainable peace in the region.
Reaffirming the deep-rooted, historic, and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Türkiye, they expressed satisfaction over the positive direction of bilateral ties. They agreed to hold the 8th High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC) meeting in Ankara later this year.
The leaders underscored the need to accelerate the implementation of ongoing initiatives and explore new avenues to further strengthen economic cooperation.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to enhancing the strategic partnership between Pakistan and Türkiye, based on shared values and a vision for peace and prosperity.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Information Ataullah Tarar, and other senior officials from Pakistan, while Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and other senior Turkish officials were also present.
Separately, Shehbaz Sharif also held a series of meetings with other world leaders on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
During the engagements, Shehbaz Sharif met with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Ilham Aliyev, and Ahmed al-Sharaa.
He also held meetings with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, as well as former Kosovo president Vjosa Osmani.
