The Oscar-winning actress revealed the news to Harper’s Bazaar, confirming that she is pregnant with her partner, French music producer Tanguy Destable.
Tanguy and I are incredibly excited,” she shared with the magazine. At 44, she also reflected on how fortunate she feels, acknowledging that the path to pregnancy can be challenging for many.
“I grew up hearing how difficult it can be to get pregnant. So many people I love have struggled with it, and I want to be mindful of that. It’s such a beautiful and joyful experience, but it isn’t always easy. I know how lucky I am, and I’m deeply grateful.”
Portman has two children from her previous marriage to choreographer Benjamin Millepied; the pair divorced in 2023.
She added that physically, this pregnancy has been more manageable than she expected, with higher energy levels than anticipated. She has been staying active through swimming and regular exercise to maintain her strength.
Now living in Paris, she joked, “In France, they consider full term to be 41 weeks instead of 40, so it looks like I get an extra week of pregnancy this time.”
