Neon and Warner Bros. unveil ambitious film slates on Day 2 of CinemaCon 2026.

Neon and Warner Bros. took center stage at CinemaCon 2026 on Tuesday, April 14, drawing major attention throughout the event.
Both studios unveiled their upcoming film slates, showcasing a wide range of projects—from prestige arthouse titles to big-budget franchise blockbusters.
Neon, the distribution company known for acquiring several Palme d’Or-winning films between 2019 and 2025—including Parasite, Anatomy of a Fall, and Anora—is continuing to strengthen its reputation as a major awards-season contender.
Its latest slate includes the folk-horror film Hokum, directed by Damian McCarthy (May 1); I Love Boosters, written and directed by Boots Riley (May 22); and the coming-of-age horror film Leviticus (June 19). The company has also acquired rights to the documentary Once Upon a Time in Harlem.
With these additions, Neon is expected to position itself strongly ahead of the Cannes Film Festival in May, potentially securing more high-profile titles for its fall awards slate.
In contrast, Warner Bros. presented its upcoming lineup amid ongoing speculation about a possible studio merger, with both Netflix and Paramount Pictures reportedly showing interest in acquisition.
Despite the uncertainty, studio co-heads Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy remain optimistic following a strong 2025 slate that included A Minecraft Movie.
Upcoming releases include Mortal Kombat II (May 2026), Supergirl directed by Craig Gillespie, and Clayface (October). Additional original projects include the R-rated animated hybrid Animal Friends, Floweyale Street, Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s Digger, and a Practical Magic sequel starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman.
