Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18.

Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. reunited to promote the first Avengers film in seven years.
While the reunion alone thrilled fans, the beloved duo—along with directors Joe and Anthony Russo, known for Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame—sparked excitement with a major reveal about Avengers: Doomsday.
At CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas on Thursday, April 16, the Russo brothers and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige promoted the upcoming film by unveiling its first epic trailer, building anticipation for the highly awaited installment.
A video from the event also captured a nostalgic moment. While Robert Downey Jr. was already on stage wearing a Doctor Doom-inspired green suit, Evans, 44, joined him and, after greeting those around him, turned to the 61-year-old actor and said, “Hey pal,” sending Marvel fans into a frenzy.
One fan celebrated the reunion, writing, “This is literally history 🔥 Chris Evans + Robert Downey Jr. on the same stage again.”
Another added, “‘Hey pal’ hits different when Chris Evans reunites with Robert Downey Jr., Russo Brothers & Kevin Feige 🔥.”
A third commented, “If this is the vibe at CinemaCon, imagine the chaos in Avengers: Doomsday.”
Meanwhile, a fourth wrote, “‘Hey pal’… I see what you did there 😭 Whether he’s holding the shield or a new mantle, the MCU just feels right when Evans is on stage. Let’s hope Doom is ready for them.”
For the uninitiated, the Captain America: The First Avenger star and Robert Downey Jr.’s latest reunion comes a month after they appeared together on stage at the 2026 Academy Awards on March 15—seven years after their last shared film, Avengers: Endgame (2019).
Their Oscars reunion also marked nearly 14 years since the release of the first Avengers film in 2012.
