Samsung continues to earn praise for delivering timely security updates across its smartphone lineup, including even its more affordable models. The update addresses known system vulnerabilities and improves overall device security and stability.
The April 2026 security update is now rolling out for both the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A53 devices.
Recently, Samsung also launched its One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy A55, where the test build included the April 2026 security patch along with several new features and performance improvements. Following that, the company has now started pushing the same security update to Galaxy A55 units running the stable Android 16-based One UI 8.0.
At present, the update is only available for the Indian variant of the Galaxy A55. It arrives with firmware version A556EXXSECZD1 and has a download size of 296.34MB. Meanwhile, Samsung has also begun rolling out the latest security patch for the Galaxy A53 in South Korea, carrying firmware version A536NKSSGGZD1.
The update focuses on fixing known security vulnerabilities and improving overall system protection. Like most security patches, it is important for maintaining device safety and stability. Users should already have received an update notification on their devices. If not, they can manually check by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If it hasn’t appeared yet, it should become available gradually over the coming days.
However, Samsung has not yet announced a global rollout schedule for the update. Still, it is expected that international variants of the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A53 will receive the security patch within the next few days.
